The heroic last stand. Staple of the fantasy genre. Dramatic situation ripe for storytelling on a grand scale. And then someone wets themselves and the moment goes from serious to pathetic in one tiny instant. The heroes are no longer the heroics. They're the comedy relief. They flee in terror and it's all over. I picked this picture for this quote because these folks really look like they're on the verge of either pissing their pants or turning tail and running away. Not that there's anything wrong with running away, other than the complete undramaticalness of it all.Art from here

You sound like you've had players do that to you before. Has this happened to you?
ReplyDeleteNot yet, but I wouldn't put it past my players to make a joke about it. I've already had them try to pee on a wall of fire to put it out.
